We are Beat the Streets
A positive youth development charity encouraging
Physical literacy is key to active lifestyles and healthy habits
We use combat sports and a physical literacy framework delivered by professional coaches & athletes to teach transferable fundamental movement skills and encourage active lifestyles.
Mental well-being is a predictor of academic achievement
We use experiential activities to improve social-emotional skills and build resiliency and confidence to help youth realize their full potential.
Employability skills help youth flourish in the workplace
We use an employability skills framework and mentoring to improve the hard and soft skills of youth to encourage success in the workplace.

Who we serve
We serve low-income children and youth ages 6-24 who experience barriers to accessing recreational and development opportunities that can impact their academic achievement.
Where we work
BTS works in low-income communities and schools across the Greater Toronto Area. We have worked with more than 70 schools to deliver free educational and recreational programs.
Why we do it
125,000 children and youth live in low-income situations in Toronto. In Peel, 52% of neighbourhoods are considered low-income. Our goal is to increase access to high-quality learning programs for low-income youth.
We are happy to announce that Beat the Streets is running open mat sessions for wrestlers of all ages and experience levels until the end of summer!
