Get To Know Me!
Hi There,
I would like to start by giving a huge Thank You to Canada Summer Jobs, for giving me another opportunity to work with Beat the Streets!
My name is Tarnpreet Saroya and this summer I am a part of Beat The Street’s Canada Summer Jobs Team as a Fundraising Assistant. I am a grade 12 student at Mayfield Secondary School and the Mayfield Women's Wrestling Team Captain and Student Coach.
I applied to work at Beat the Streets because I had a great experience working with them last Summer and I believe this job is a great opportunity to learn all kinds of new skills and improve myself. I am very excited to learn and advance my communication, leadership and digital skills. I would like to learn how to undertake grant writing and fundraising activities, coordinate and oversee the development of online fundraising campaigns and identify and apply for online sponsorship opportunities.
My interests and hobbies include Wrestling and Olympic Weightlifting. I wrestle at Warriors Wrestling Club. My accomplishments in wrestling so far include a 2019 Gotham City Girls Open Gold Medalist, 2019 Cadet Provincial Champion, 2019 OFSAA champion, 2020 Juvenile Provincial Bronze Medalist, and 2020 OFSAA Silver Medalist. Through wrestling, I have made friends all over the world and competed in different countries.
My post-secondary plan is to go to university and become a Physiotherapist.
I am extremely thrilled to be working with Beat the Streets Toronto and I would like to thank Canada Summer Jobs once again for funding the work I will be doing this Summer!
