Just the Beginning

After the Canada Summer Games 2017, I personally felt I finally started to figure out my style, along with my body type. Although I was the skinniest one on the team, I started to learn that if you want to be in the category of the top wrestlers finding your own style is what will allow you to surpass the average group. My dad told me that every day and still continues to remind me that I should never be satisfied with being average. From that day forward I feel like my wrestling career really started for me.

Nobody enjoys losing, It’s one of the worst feelings ever in my opinion. Losing happens to everyone no matter if it's competitive or recreational. When I lose the feeling I get in my stomach is sickening. Although it's upsetting, the matches we lose are the ones we learn the most from. Being able to look back at a match and break it down is key to a better performance. At the Cadet Pan American Championships I wrestled an American in the finals and had a tough loss. I’ve done nothing but learn from those mistakes and I’ve only improved.

Can’t wait to get back on the mats after this pandemic!

One of my favorite pictures from my career so far is definitely this one, being able to work and train with George St-Pierre is a blessing for my wrestling  (three time welterweight ufc champion)  Although he is a high experienced athlete he still takes the time to break down all the techniques with me and pushes me to my limits like a coach. I look up to George, I see his accomplishments and achievements and it drives me to want to be the best.
