Get to Know Tarnpreet
Hi again,
I would like to start by giving a huge Thank You to Canada Summer Jobs for giving me another opportunity to work with Beat the Streets!
My name is Tarnpreet Kaur Saroya! I am a Summer Camp Counselor at Beat the Streets Toronto. I recently graduated from Mayfield Secondary School, and I am currently 18 years old. I applied to work at Beat the Streets because I had a great experience working with them last Summer and I believe this job is a great opportunity to learn all kinds of new skills and improve myself. I am very excited to learn and advance my communication, leadership and creativity skills. My interests and hobbies include Wrestling and Olympic Weightlifting. A recent accomplishment of mine in wrestling is Gold at the 2022 Provincial Championships and Bronze at the 2022 National Championships.
Wrestling has given me confidence and taught me how to believe in myself. It has developed my all around life skills. Through wrestling I have made friends all over the world and competed in different countries. Beat the Streets has truly taught me honesty, integrity and resilience.
I believe in BTS’s mission to advance the education of low-income children and youth by providing fun and unique development activities that build social-emotional, physical literacy & employability skills. In addition, I trust their values, to be honest with our efforts, be fearless in the face of challenges or adversity, and be relentless in accomplishing our goals. Beat the Streets has taught me honesty, integrity and resilience. Beat the Streets has helped to shape me into the person I am and is still helping me develop my skills today.
I am extremely excited to be working with Beat the Streets Toronto and I would like to thank Canada Summer Jobs once again for funding the work I will be doing this Summer!
