Thank You, Ontario Trillium Foundation!

The Wrestle 4 Fun program is coming to an end for the year, in light of this, BTS wanted to thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their contributions that made this program possible, here we will showcase more about who Trillium is and how their support for our program was able to impact the lives of so many children in Ontario.

Who are they?

The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. For over 30 years, their generous investments in community-based initiatives as well as their mission to strengthen the impact of Ontario’s non-profit sector have helped build healthy and vibrant communities in Ontario. OTF has had a huge impact on the social, cultural and economic well-being of the people of Ontario thus far!

“The leadership of Trillium has been a co-operative effort from the beginning, involving some of the finest minds in the province, who, together, shared a vision that they could make a difference.” — John Craig Eaton, founding chairman

What are their Strategies?

OTF invests in hundreds of projects every year to make Ontario's communities healthier and more vibrant

Their goal is to improve the well-being of Ontarians through:

  • Supporting projects that build stronger and more resilient communities. OTF supports projects that develop more inclusive and accessible programs and projects that enhance community spaces that develop new innovative approaches.

What informed the investment strategy?

  • Results from the Canadian Index of Wellbeing (CIW) indicated that the development of programs and activities can improve the well-being of people across the country.

  • The OTF asked the CIW to research the well-being of Ontarians and the final report How Are Ontarians Really Doing? This helped to produce the investment strategy and where they focus their investments; the Six Action Areas.

Strategy Overview
