We are excited to share that Level Up is underway at Fletcher's Meadow Secondary School in Brampton.

We are currently delivering Level Up to 50 students this semester thanks to the generous support from Jumpstart's Sport Relief Fund.

Level Up is a multi-sports based program that encourages the development of physical literacy and social-emotional skills. Thanks to the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, BTS has developed its very own curriculum to help build resilience.

And we're off to a great start! With Coaches Tyson and Paul delivering classes, 50 low-income students will learn about:

  • Boxing

  • Kickboxing

  • Functional Stretching

  • Wrestling

  • Goal setting

  • Building healthy relationships

  • Stress management

  • Decision making

Each student will receive 16 hours of learning opportunities (10 hours of physical activity and 6 hours of social-emotional learning).

Level Up is a new program that was delivered last year with great success and feedback. Students asked why isn't this part of the curriculum and enjoyed learning about new ways to manage their stress and set goals.

“The workouts were amazing, I lost about 10 pounds. They inspired me to start weightlifting again because I realized I was so out of shape.”
— Level Up participant, 2020
“Very engaging and informative lessons about using goals to create a new lifestyle and change the way you think about things”
— Level Up participant, 2020
