New online programs to build resilience

Resilience at Beat the Streets

It has been more than a year since we last worked with a school board and delivered our programs in schools, with students. In March, the whole world was turned upside down with COVID. This pandemic has impacted and affected everyone. While challenges lay ahead, Beat the Streets is adapting because we are resilient

Resilience: an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.

As wrestlers, we have had this word ingrained into our minds and hearts from rigorous training and challenging competitions. We learned to set goals and worked hard to achieve them. We learned to get up when we are down, to manage our emotions, make informed decisions and build healthy relationships. This resilience became a part of our character, fused with our DNA, and grew as we grew. This resilience helped us to positively and constructively deal with adversity, overcome obstacles and become champions, both on and off the mat. We are a living example and testament that wrestling can build resilience.

Sometimes we forget when faced with challenging obstacles and that’s why it’s so important to have strong people around you because they remind us of how strong we are (thank you, John Park).

While we cannot deliver our traditional wrestling programs, we have adapted and designed new online programs. These programs allow students and teachers to safely participate in our programs while learning skills and tools to successfully navigate the new normal.

To ensure we do not have a “lost generation of youth”, as the United Nations has warned, we are excited to announce our new online programs that improve resilience and physical fitness.

New online programs

Our methods may have changed but our goals remain the same. We will continue to build active, resilient and confident youth through online programming while we wait to return to the beautiful sport of wrestling. To learn more about our online programs and to get involved, contact us.

Stay Resolute in all your pursuits and have an amazing Day!
