Beat the Streets Toronto: Champion of the week!

Erica Wiebe is a very disciplined  and dedicated athlete with tremendous leadership skills leaving her to be a role model to many people. She is the BTS champion of the week!

She has just finished wrestling a tough tournament in Turkey called Yasar Dogu, defeating Yasemin Adar of Turkey who is ranked 2nd in the world in the quarter finals and then defeating Aline Focken of Germany who is ranked 3rd in the world in the semifinals ultimately winning the finals against Alina Da Silva Ferreira of Brazil.

I asked Erica “After coming out of that big win in Turkey at the Yasar Dogu tournament how are you feeling as you approach the Olympic trials?”

Her response was:

The goal has always been to do everything I can to best prepare to have an optimal performance in Tokyo. I try and take it one day at a time and one step at a time. It was great hunting down some top opponents at the Yasar Dogu but I am feeling hungrier than ever to continue to evolve my wrestling.
