Beat the Streets receives a $10,000 donation from Intuit TurboTax

On Friday, March 15, BTS was honoured to participate in the Give Where You Live Day Toronto event hosted by Intuit TurboTax. This incredible day included Intuit TurboTax staff visiting our Nike-funded after-school program at Greenholme Middle School, where they witnessed our wrestling program in action.

BTS coaches Paul Raso and Andrew Tyson were invited to the Toronto Raptors game after the visit. They enjoyed the hospitality suite and, most excitingly, received a $10,000 donation from Intuit TurboTax.

The event celebrated Intuit TurboTax’s most engaged employee volunteers, highlighted the impact of Toronto community partners, and shared this impact with the Raptors audience in collaboration with the MLSE Foundation. BTS is profoundly grateful for the support from Intuit TurboTax and the MLSE Foundation. Their generous donation of $10,000 ensures that more low-income youth gain access to essential sports skill-building programs, a lifeline that helps them thrive and realize their full potential.

From Paul Raso, Level Up & You Grow Girl Program Coordinator, Beat the Streets

“Having the staff of Intuit come out and watch the various programs they are supporting was nothing short of amazing. I have been working in marginalized communities for close to 25 years, and very rarely do we see such support. The funding organizations such as Intuit provide goes above and beyond; the interest to get involved personally is another level of support. It also provided a forum where we can share exactly where the support is going and how profoundly it impacts those who partake in the amazing programs Beat The Streets Toronto provides staff and students across the Greater Toronto area of public schools. I wish more funders would engage in such activities, and it formed a more meaningful connection with communities in need.”
