Summer Camp Facilitator

Why BTS:

Beat The Streets is a charity that I know thousands of young kids and youth need. With our programs and content we hope to help each and every one of them reach their full potential through Level Up, Wrestle 4 Fun, You Grow Girl, and the program I’m involved in, Work It. These programs offer an interactive experience for children, youth, and young adults.

About me:

As a teenage girl, I understand the pressure society puts on young girls and women. Through sports and activities, I have developed my confidence and a positive self-image. I believe it’s important for females to understand that the beauty standard that women are expected to meet is an unrealistic embodiment. Through the program You Grow Girl, we hope to help navigate young girls to accept themselves no matter their height or shape and always strive to be healthy and positive. BTS helps kids build more resilience, confidence, and strength which helps navigate through the negative pressures in society and on social media. We are all beautiful human beings and should be accepted as we are.

“Don't change your body to get respect from society. Instead, let’s change society to respect our bodies.” -Golda Poretsky

Thank you Beat The Streets for providing these programs to low-income youth and kids and teaching them the value of resilience and strength. I’d also like to thank Canada Summer Jobs for funding youth positions like mine to be able to help children find themselves and recognize the importance of being active and confident.
